New Stargirl Character Posters Showcase the Next Generation of the JSA

Stargirl‘s first episode began with the end of the Justice Society of America, as Joel McHale’s Sylvester Pemberton/Starman and more were killed in action. Fortunately, there’s hope on the horizon. In the coming weeks, Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl will lead a new JSA team against the Injustice Society. We have yet to see the next incarnation of the JSA unite. But in anticipation of that, The CW has released eight new character posters spotlighting the new heroes and some of the villains as well.

Stargirl, Pat Dugan, Wildcat, Hourman, and Dr. Mid-Nite each get their own posters alongside Injustice Society members Brainwave and Icicle. Surprisingly, Courtney’s mother, Barbara, has her own poster as well. So far, the series has offered no indication that Barbara will be joining her husband and daughter in their heroic crusade. In fact, Barbara works for The American Dream, the corporation that’s used as a front for the Injustice Society’s secret underground lair. But the blueprints Barbara is holding suggest that she has a bigger role to play.

The latest episode of Stargirl showed Courtney donning her star-spangled costume for the first time and leaving Brainwave in a coma. However, her fight is far from over. Next week, Stargirl will face off against Icicle. And judging by the newest promo, a major team-up is happening too.

Stargirl’s next episode will hit DC Universe next Monday, June 1, and come to The CW on Tuesday, June 2.
