Terrifying footage captures the moment a man set a Texas hotel office ablaze during an attempted robbery.

Video released by the Fort Worth Fire Department shows the arsonist, wearing a black cap and a black scarf over his nose and mouth, in the lobby of a Budget Host Inn in Fort Worth around 10:15 a.m.

He demanded money from the clerk and threatened to burn him alive if he did not comply, officials said.

He’s shown pouring an unidentified liquid on the desk and briefly speaking to the clerk — who appears to be calling for help.

Then the man used a lighter to spark a fire — causing a section of the desk to quickly go up in flames.

The clerk got away quickly enough and suffered only minor burns, but the office was heavily damaged, officials said.

The arsonist, who remains at large, took off in a white car that is believed to be a Honda Accord with a sunroof and a rear spoiler.
