West Ham fans react as club linked with Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko
by Will ButcherWest Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer with the French ace seemingly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge – and Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter.
Bakayoko, 25, is back to his best after returning to Monaco on loan during the 2019-20 campaign. But at Chelsea, he is firmly behind the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and others – as well as teen Billy Gilmour who has emerged into the senior side.
The France international joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 and clocked up 43 league and cup appearances in all competitions, but was not deemed good enough – being loaned out to AC Milan for the 2018-19 campaign.
A return to form at Milan then saw him go on loan to Monaco where his form has continued to improve. However, Chelsea are still expected to sell Bakayoko this summer – and French outlet Le10Sport say West Ham are interested.
The report states that Chelsea want £31.2million for Bakayoko but the chances are that he will go on loan again, and West Ham are rivalling AC Milan for his signature. Spotrac claim he earns a whopping £110,000 a week.
West Ham supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that they could sign Bakayoko from their London rivals, and many believe he would be a top signing for David Moyes’ outfit.
