Lagos state discharges 87 COVID-19 patients
by Tolulope AyeniLagos State has discharged 87 patients following their recovery from the novel coronavirus, as the state continues to battle the pandemic.
CPS to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosil, disclosed this via his twitter account on Wednesday Evening.
He said:
“26 of the patients were discharged from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 24 from Onikan Isolation Centre, 12 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), 11 from Agidingbi, nine from Gbagada Isolation Centre and five from from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation Centres.
“With this, the number of patients successfully managed and discharged from our Isolation facilities is now 825,” he said.
He added: “As our front line health workers records successes in this battle against #COVID19, we urge citizens to adhere strictly to our public advisories and directives as this is the only way we can break the chain of transmission of the infection.”
Lagos state still remains the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria. Lagos recorded 161 new cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 3,772 and 8,344 in Nigeria.
As of Wednesday, Lagos has recorded 825 recoveries and 47 deaths from the infection.
