Julian’s Double Surprise! After Movie, Downton Abbey Coming Back With Season 7

by

The spectacularly aesthetic series Downton Abbey returns with another movie and yet another season to break the status quo and sell the magical old days.

The old days have become a new thing on TV, thanks to Downton Abbey. The magnificent show is back again to take you for another extravagant ride in history.

Highlights

This time, the ride promises to be longer because Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey is working on yet another movie, and more importantly on the seventh season of the widely acclaimed period drama.

Downton Abbey is back to remind you “Just like the old days”

Old days are, of course, the period drama Downton Abbey selling and reselling over and over again. Cora Crawley (Elizabeth Mcgovern), Countess of Grantham fondly says, “Just like the old days”, and one can’t resist getting mesmerized with the show’s extravaganza.

Well, just like the old days, Julian Fellowes is working on another Downton movie. But the delighting news comes from his decision to reboot Downton Abbey for the seventh season.

Last time, when we watched the Crawley clan it was in the Downton Abbey. Picking up in 1927, shortly after the TV finale, the Crawleys were frantically reading for a lavish dinner. And why not, the Royal visit could not be less dramatic. Amid the hubbub, we could see the same old Lady Cora and Lady Mary but noticed slight differences in their attitudes.

The last scene takes us to a clandestine gay club where a rowdy group of men are deliriously dancing the ‘Black Bottom’. It’s easily the movie’s liveliest scene, and the most surprising, not least because the north of England in the 1920s was hardly a gay haven.

Following this pattern, Downton Abbey’s new projects might take you to the old sweet days but will also give you the surprise of changing times.

Julian Fellowes raising the costume budget to make Downton Abbey more lavish

Reports have it that Julian Fellowes has raised the costume budget to a mounting degree. Undeniably, the costume is the show’s strength. Downton Abbey has focused the script on what viewers want to see, but when it comes to the grandeur of sets and costumes, the show has always mesmerized us.

Julian has put high stakes on the upcoming Downton Abbey movie and the new season. He doesn’t want to miss any detail after learning hard lessons from his series Belgravia. Belgravia was touted to be the Downton of present times but that didn’t happen. Julian has heightened his costume budget as he doesn’t want any loophole and intends to win over the viewers once again.

Julian Fellowes is best known for weaving magic on screen. With Belgravia, his reputation received a blow. We are hoping that the Downton Abbey movie and seventh season will revive his lost repute.

Release dates of Downton Abbey movie and season 7 of the series

Downton Abbey movie and the next season are in the works. But Julian is keeping the details of release dates under wraps. Some reports claim that Downton will go back in history to relive Mathew Crawley to meet the fans’ demand. As per now, there is no official information regarding the release dates of Downton Abbey movie and season 7. It is too soon to predict the release dates.

Since Julian is working day and night to make a magical season 7 and an equally enchanting movie, Downton Abbey, as always, is worth the wait. Let us know your views about and expectations from the seventh season of Downton Abbey, and the movie, in the comments box below!
