And he says he feels appreciated at the Ibrox club and was desperate to return due to the winning mentality at the club.

He told the Athletic: "It feels really good.

"I knew I wanted to sign after the first two days of arriving at the club. When I saw everything, the training ground and what Rangers means, it made it clear in my mind. I wanted this and I feel appreciated by all the people at Rangers as they understand me.

“Since day one, I felt that everyone inside the locker room wanted me to stay at Rangers.

"The atmosphere of the fans, the mentality of winning every single game; all of these factors made me want to continue here.

"I can grow with the club. It’s the perfect mixture for me and I’m really happy that everything is done. I just can’t wait to meet the boys and the staff again and get to work.”

Hagi hailed the entire Rangers coaching staff as he says players learn something new 'every day' from boss Steven Gerrard.

He said: "You learn something new from him every single day. But it’s not just him,” Hagi says. “All the coaches are amazing. The work they put in, from the smallest detail to the biggest detail, is everything you need to perform. The professionalism at Rangers is high. The gaffer was a big factor, but Rangers as a team impressed me.

“Technically it’s not a top league but it’s a really difficult league. You don’t play just three or four games a year it a league where the team parks the bus and stay there and you have to score.

"This is week in, week out. You have to get used to it and create every single game. It’s difficult as the very first minute you have to create chances. The chances don’t just come.

“The thing my dad tells me is to enjoy football and play with passion. If you’re serious and you’re 100 per cent committed, everything will come.”
