A petition has been launched calling for Councillor Tom Hollis (inset) to be sacked after he allegedly parked a caravan outside his neighbour's front door during an ongoing dispute in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

A petition has been launched calling for an Ashfield councillor to be dismissed following a "long-standing" neighbour dispute in which the police have been called "on several occasions".

The petition, with more than 1,000 signatures, is calling for Councillor Tom Hollis, who represents Huthwaite and Brierley, to be sacked.

Mr Hollis denies the allegations.

It follows social media posts after Mr Hollis allegedly parking a caravan directly in front of a neighbour's front door on Windmill Close, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

This was said to be a small part in the long-standing dispute, in which both sides have phoned the police on numerous occasions.

People in Nottingham city centre who think they may have coronavirus will be able to receive tests for the first time after the city's first testing centre was created.

The facility, by the Motorpoint Arena car park off City Link, is the first of its kind in the city and the third to be opened within the wider area.

It comes as part of the government's ambition to reach 200,000 virus tests per day by the end of May, with tracking and tracing of the virus vital as the country eases restrictions on the lockdown.

Testing for coronavirus helps the Government and scientists understand its current spread and plan how to manage the pandemic.

As capacity has increased, testing has been offered to different groups in a phased approach, prioritising NHS workers. However, the ultimate aim is that anyone who needs a test will be able to have one, if they have symptoms.

The University of Nottingham has begun its recruitment stage to find an effective vaccine for Covid-19

The University of Nottingham has begun its recruitment process for its human trials "of huge importance" which aim to find an effective vaccine for Covid-19.

The study will enrol up to 10,260 adults and children and will involve a number of partner institutions across the country, including the University of Nottingham Health Service, who will test a vaccine developed at the University of Oxford ('ChAdOx1 nCoV-19').

Workers at risk of high exposure, particularly frontline health care workers in the East Midlands region aged between 18 and 55 years, are initially being invited to take part in the study, followed by volunteers aged 56-69 years and 70 years and over.

Only a disastrous run of results would see Nottingham Forest miss out on the Championship’s top six, once the season resumes.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds are back in training at the Nigel Doughty Academy after a two-month break owing to the devastating coronavirus pandemic and preparing to step up their activity in the next few days.

It’s hoped that if progress continues to be made, then the season will restart next month, albeit without supporters present, and the club’s ambassador John McGovern expects the Reds to return with a bang and end the campaign in style, giving themselves a great shot of Premier League football next term.
