A woman is warning others to be vigilant after a jogger exposed himself while she exercised in a popular park.

The woman had gone for a walk in Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield on Tuesday morning, and had stopped to do stretches at a bench when she noticed a man approaching.

As he ran her past, she realised that his genitals were lifted up over the waistband of his shorts and exposed.

She called 101 and GMP sent two patrols out to try to find the man, but he had left the scene.

Now she is warning other park users to be aware.

The woman, who is in her thirties, managed to take a photo of the man as he jogged away.

She said: "Unfortunately I did not get his face just the back of him.

"I was scared and looking back at him, he looked at me as he made his way towards the exit of the park. I rang 101 immediately and reported the crime.

The woman said this man had his genitals exposed in Platt Fields Park

"This is a very serious matter. I was wearing a hoodie and sunglasses so from far away he would have no indication of my age, and fortunately I am not a teenager.

"I’m distressed now as I fear for the public's safety.

"I was just in shock and I was scared. It's serious because you don't know what it could lead to.

"The police were amazing and kept in contact with me all day and sent two cars. There's no CCTV there, but there must be on Wilmslow Road."

The incident happened shortly before 8am on Tuesday, May 26.

The man is described as being in his late twenties, and he was wearing a grey hoodie and black shorts.

He left the park in the direction of Wilmslow Road.

GMP says the offence was reported to them, and no arrests have yet been made.
