Fasi! Fasi! That is a call everyone that has been through Kikuubo knows too well. It is a call to give way to the porters in Kampala’s busy trade hub. It is also a call that has been silent for three months as Kampala shut down to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged parts of the world and brought businesses and countries to a standstill.

The multitude of trucks, boda bodas, human traffic and bustling business that populated this part of Kampala were gone. Until a few days ago, the city was close to a ghost town. But that changed on Tuesday 26th as the movement of private cars was allowed between 6:30am and 7:00pm.
 
The trading world in Downtown Kampala anticipates that they too will be allowed to operate soon.
