Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp receives Caglar Soyuncu tip ahead of transfer window

by

Caglar Soyuncu would fit in very well at Liverpool.

That's according to Emile Heskey, who has suggested Jurgen Klopp take a look at the centre-back when the transfer window opens.

Soyuncu joined Leicester City in 2018 and just one year later found himself the club's first choice centre-back after Harry Maguire left for Manchester United.

The Turkey international has swam where many would have sunk, and was enjoying a superb campaign before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Liverpool boast a strong defence comprised of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson to name but a few.

But former Liverpool forward Heskey reckons the club could do with another body to shore up the back-line.

Heskey was recently asked to name-drop some players who could do a job at the back for Liverpool and landed on Soyuncu and real Sociedad's Diego Llorente.

He remains unsure whether the former would be available to sign for a fair price in the summer, given how good he's been for the Foxes.

But has suggested he'd be a good player for Klopp to take a look at.

"Soyuncu would fit in well at any club," Heskey told Genting Bet.

"He's taken the role of centre back at Leicester, which was a very important role, following the footsteps of Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans, and no one knew what to expect of him.

"But he's taken it by the scruff of the neck and he's really improved and given something extra as well as he’s good on the ball.

"I don't see him going anywhere, even Liverpool, as Leicester don't need to sell unless they want to and they don't have a ready-made player to fall into his spot.

"However, if Leicester did want to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the top clubs."
