Kamloops RCMP officers were busy last night chasing down alleged criminals and making several arrests.

A man with two outstanding warrants was caught at a traffic stop in the downtown area yesterday, May 26, according to an RCMP media release. Police found two replica guns, a cattle prod, drugs and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized and the man will appear before a judge today.

A man allegedly trafficking narcotics was arrested in another traffic stop, this time on Tranquille Road. Two shotguns, knives, body armour, drugs and more than $2,800 in cash was found in the vehicle.

A truck reported stolen from 100 Mile House was found on Seymour Street in Kamloops and the occupant was arrested without incident.

Another traffic stop led to the seizure of a large amount of narcotics and over $3,600 cash seized.

RCMP said all the findings in the various investigations will be sent to the Public Prosecution of Canada for review and consideration of charge approval.

“Excellent proactive police work yielded significant amounts of drugs and weapons that were removed from the streets of Kamloops and quite a few offenders earned a well-deserved night in jail,” Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Jeff Bingle said in a media release.
