Celtic news: Real Betis call on Hoops fans to support them when La Liga returns
by Aidan ScottREAL BETIS have called on Celtic fans to make them their Spanish team ahead of La Liga's return.
The Hoops have already been declared Premiership champions after the SPFL called an early end to the season.
La Liga has been under lockdown since March due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
But like their counterparts in the Bundesliga, Spanish top flight clubs will finally return to action next month.
And it could kick off with a Seville derby clash between Sevilla and Real Betis on July 11.
Now the latter have appealed to Celtic supporters to 'fulfill their football craving' and back them until the end of the campaign.
Real Betis' official account tweeted: "Hey Celtic fans!
"As the Scottish Premiership was cancelled and now that La Liga is returning, perhaps you can fulfill your football craving with a green and white club you can feel identified with.
"Just turn the hoops sideways."
The Spanish club also jokingly posted an image of their badge, with the letters in the middle replaced by Celtic's badge.
Real Betis have previously paid tribute to their Parkhead counterparts.

In 2017, they swapped their green and white stripes for hoops in a one-off gesture to mark their origins.
One of the club’s founders, Manuel Asensio Ramos, studied in Glasgow in the early 20th century and watched Celtic play each week.
He liked their colours – with their hoops being worn for the first time in 1903 – and returned to Spain determined to copy the design with the new Real Betis club.
And ahead of La Liga's return next month, they will hope to have as many Celtic fans backing them as possible.
