Estimated $10,000 damage to residence on North Taylor after fire Wednesday

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Fire Department has estimated a fire caused $10,000 in damages to a home on North Taylor this afternoon.

On May 27, at around 11:19 a.m. AFD crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 605 N. Taylor, and six units responded.

When AFD arrived on scene, they found smoke and fire showing at the front of the home. Crews began to attack the fire and found the fire had reached the attic. After gaining access to the attic, the fire was brought under control at 11:56 a.m.

No injuries were reported, and the Fire Marshal’s Office labeled the cause as “accidental.”
