Eymael: My methods worked at Leopards

Luc Eymael admits that while a number of Black Leopards players weren't happy with his arrival at the club last season, he ultimately helped their careers.

The former Polokwane City and Free State Stars coach, who is currently with Tanzanian side Young African, has enjoyed a varied career throughout Africa.

He guided Ea Lla Koto to Nedbank Cup success in 2018, and now says he helped guide a number of players that were the spine of his Lidoda Duvha team.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, the 60-year-old Belgian said: "Yes, some of them were not happy in the beginning when I got there because me, I want my players to work seriously.

"I want to work with discipline and things like that. Most of the players improved when I was there.

"Look at Thuso Phala before I arrived at Black Leopards, and when I arrived at the club, and when I left the club.

"I can also talk about (Thabiso) Mokoena, (Lesedi) Kapinga, and (Edwin) Gyimah, they all did well.

"Look at the goalkeeper, and not this one (Rotshidzwa Muleka) but (Jonas) Mendes when he wasn't injured. That's the spine of the team."
