by Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/airdrie-and-coatbridge-advertiser/A MONKLANDS man has admitted moving between three addresses during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Zak Oakes, 27, was found out after police made checks to see if he was complying with a court curfew.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court he admitted seven breaches of bail conditions.
Alice Carey, prosecuting, said that on a number of occasions there was no sign of Oakes at his bail address in Mill Road, Airdrie.
On two occasions officers found him in the street during his curfew hours.
Defence agent Eddie Kelly said that his client was given bail conditions with a curfew on March 3, but it transpired the tenancy in Mill Road wasn’t ready for him and there followed a “miscommunication”. Mr Kelly explained: “He was then staying at his partner’s home in Dunbeth Court, Coatbridge.
“It was also felt at one point that it would be best if he went to a third address, his mother’s home in Aitken Street, Airdrie.
“The problem, of course, is that he is curfewed to the Mill Road address and that’s why these charges have arisen. He doesn’t have a lengthy record, but accepts that this type of offending has to stop.”
Oakes was held in custody overnight after the latest breach, but Sheriff Fergus Thomson agreed to release him and gave him seven months to complete 80 hours of unpaid community work.
