South Lanarkshire Council along with the NHS Keep Well project have assisted those living on their sites including the facility in the town’s Springbank Park in West Mains.
They also operate a bigger site in Larkhall.
Site officers are maintaining regular contact and are working closely with other council departments and external partners to provide essential services and assist the community to stay safe and to access the help and support they need.
The Scottish Government is making additional funding available to provide emergency help for those worse affected by coronavirus.
Officers from housing, education and the NHS recently got together to provide the children living on the sites with packs containing both fun and educational activities.
East Kilbride resident Mrs Price, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday at the site, said: “The site officers have been in constant contact with me to make sure I am okay and to ensure I am getting the services I need!
“I am delighted with and grateful for the help they are providing.”
The council and its partners are working hard to support all communities across South Lanarkshire during these challenging times.
Councillor Josh Wilson, the chair of the council’s Housing and Technical Resources Committee, said: “I am pleased to see officers working closely with our local traveller community to ensure that we not only provide that support, but also go that extra mile to help everyone get through this.”
