Obaseki celebrates Chief Edwin Clark at 93 - The Nation
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has felicitated with elder statesman, Niger Delta Leader, and former Minister of Information, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on the occasion of his 93rd birthday.
In a statement, the governor described him as a nationalist and true democrat, who has continued to relentlessly work to promote the nation’s unity, growth and development.
Governor Obaseki said, “At 93, Chief Edwin Clark has excelled and is accomplished in all ramifications as a family man, elder statesman, nationalist and politician.
“Chief Edwin Clark is a true democrat, sterling performer, excellent public servant and first-class political leader that has continued to work tirelessly towards the unity, growth and development of Nigeria.

“As Midwestern Commissioner for Education under the Brig. Samuel Ogbemudia administration in the old Bendel State, he was active in the establishment of a Mid-west Institute of Technology that would later become the University of Benin (UNIBEN).”
He added, “Today, we join his family, associates, Ijaw people and indeed entire Nigerians in celebrating the virtues of love, selflessness and sacrifice, which Chief Clark consistently projects.
“As we celebrate your impactful years on earth, we pray that the Almighty God gives you many more years in good health to serve Him and humanity.”
