Man Utd offer forward to Dortmund in effort to seal Jadon Sancho transfer
by Coral BarryManchester United have offered Borussia Dortmund Alexis Sanchez in part exchange for Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
Sanchez is currently out on loan at Inter Milan and United are eager to offload the massive earner from their books.
The Chilean pockets £500,000 a week as a United player and has experienced the same fitness and consistency issues in Serie A as he did in Manchester.
It is no secret United are desperate to sign Sancho from Dortmund, but the winger is valued at well over £100million by his club.
Sancho has two years left on his contract and is keen for a new challenge, although the ongoing coronavirus pandemic might force the Englishman to delay any transfer move for another year.
Mundo Deportivo United are trying to reach an agreement with Dortmund and have offered the German club several players as part of the deal.
Sanchez is one of them and there is optimism Dortmund could be interested despite his mammoth wages.
Inter are unlikely to pick up the option to sign Sanchez permanently when his loan expires at the end of the season.
Dortmund have picked up underperforming players from big clubs before and helped rejuvenate their careers, for example former Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer.
United continue to keep a close eye on Sancho, who has scored 17 times and provided 18 assists in 39 appearances for Dortmund this season.
Sancho is yet to start in the two games Dortmund have had since restart of the Bundesliga due to a calf injury.
