Moment dying man wobbled suitcase 'after lover zipped him inside to suffocate'

by

A murder victim desperately tried to escape from a suitcase his girlfriend zipped him into as she cackled and swore at him, police say. Horrific new footage obtained by the Orlando Sentinel reportedly shows Jorge Torres Jr, 42, wobbling inside the case at his home in Orange County, Florida, in February this year before he ran out of air and died.

Torres’ girlfriend Sarah Boone – who has been charged with his murder – could be heard goading him on two videos seized by cops, and saying: ‘For everything you’ve done to me, fuck you.’ In the same clip, Torres can be heard gasping ‘I can’t fucking breathe. Seriously.’

Boone is said to reply: ‘Yeah, that’s what you do when you choke me.’ Torres again told his alleged killer he couldn’t breathe, only for her to answer: ‘That’s on you. Oh, that’s what I feel like when you cheat on me. You should probably shut the fuck up.’

A second clip shot shortly afterwards shows the case propped up in a different position. Torres can be heard calling Boone’s name before the recording stops. Neither clip has been published by the Sentinel because of the disturbing nature of their content.

Boone is said to have gone to bed after and woke up to find Torres dead the next. She then called Orange County Sheriff’s Office and told deputies her partner had died during a game of hide and seek gone wrong after they’d spent a romantic evening drinking wine and completing puzzles.

Boone claimed that she had initially agreed with Torres that it would be ‘funny’ if he got in the case for a joke, and that she’d sealed it with a paper clip as its zipper was broken.

Her story fell apart when detectives found the horrific videos on her phone, the Sentinel reported. Asked about their contents, Boone branded her dead ex ‘the boy who cried wolf’ and implied she thought he was faking his distress.

She also claimed to have left him in the luggage for ‘just’ five minutes, although an examination of the videos on her phone showed Torres – a father of three – had been zipped up inside for a minimum of 11 minutes.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud bang on the night of Torres’ death, and said he and Boone were a nuisance to live next to because of their habit of playing loud music and arguing noisily.

Boone was charged with second-degree murder in February, and remains in Orange County Jail without bond.
