Elijah Wood is back in this thriller

Come to Daddy is a 2019 comedy thriller that is now available on Amazon. Directed by Ant Timpson, the movie follows Norval Greenwood, a disturbed fellow that lives with his mother in a Beverly Hills Mansion.

Norval’s life is a lie. Plagued by a history of substance abuse, he is quite shocked to receive a letter from Brian, his estranged father that abandoned them when he was five.

Norval journeys to a secluded cabin to see Brian. While their initial encounter is pleasant, it does not take Norval long to realize that the man who claims to be his father is not completely sane.

Brian threatens Norval with violence, forcing him to question the rationality of setting up camp in an isolated cabin with a stranger. As their relationship unravels, secrets are unearthed and Norval comes to the realization that his life is not what he thought it was.

Come to Daddy is Ant Timpson’s directorial debut and it has been commended for its violent mayhem and dark humour. Elijah Wood has also been praised for his portrayal of the wide-eyed Norval.

Some people argue that Wood peaked with Lord of the Rings; that his career has essentially collapsed since then. But others appreciate his penchant for choosing the most interesting roles in Hollywood, steering clear of conventional blockbusters.
