Liverpool ONE has confirmed its reopening date and the strict safety measures that will be in place to keep customers and staff safe.
The majority of businesses within Liverpool ONE have remained closed since March 23 when the Government ordered all non-essential shops to close.
A small selection of restaurants have reopened since for takeaway or collection only, with Nando's reopening last Friday.
Liverpool ONE will reopen on June 15, the date the Government said on Monday that all non-essential shops could reopen from. However once it does there will be a number of major changes to the centre.
When shopping on the upper level of South John Street, customers will be asked to keep to the left with a one-way walking system in place.
Steve Connolly, estate director at Liverpool ONE, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our visitors back to Liverpool ONE now the Government has advised we are safe to do so, with the right conditions in place.
“We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the right balance of measures are in place to protect everyone who visits us but also ensuring it will be an enjoyable experience.
“Our message is quite clear ….. Be Patient, Be Kind, Be Responsible. We want people to once again enjoy shopping and to love the experience of Liverpool ONE.
“Yes, it will be different and we are all adjusting to a new normal but I think the vast majority of people have proved during lockdown that we can do this. We can adapt.”
There will also be changes to store opening times with all shops operating between 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday. This is to help staff avoid having to travel during peak times.
Sunday operating times will remain as normal.
Hand sanister stations will be available around Liverpool ONE and the charge for toilets will be removed to ensure shoppers don't need to worry about handling coins.
Steve added: “Now is the time for everyone to start supporting the local economy but in a safe way.
"We will be working closely with all of our stores in relation to any individual measures which they will be putting in place to protect customers.
“We urge everyone who visits us to use common sense, follow the directional and helpful signage which we will have in place across the estate and once again fall in love with that experience of shopping on the high street.”
Many of the restaurants across Liverpool ONE will be offering take away and click and collect services until they are able to re-open.
