Telangana: Three-year-old falls into 120ft open borewell in Medak, rescue operations on

Police and officials rushed to the spot and are trying to rescue the boy.
HYDERABAD: A three-year-old boy fell into an open borewell in Podchanpally village of Papannapet mandal in Medak district of Telangana. The boy, Harshavardhan, who was playing out in the open slipped into the recently sunk borewell. It is learnt that the borewell was sunk up to 120ft but since it did not yield water, it was abandoned.

Police and officials who rushed to the spot are trying to rescue the boy. They have reportedly trying to send oxygen supplies inside so that the boy will continue to breath. The boy was the third child of a couple Goverdhan and Naveena who were also working in the fields at the same place. However, they did not notice the boy fall into the borewell.

According to sources, officials have requisitioned four JCBs to dig around the open borewell. The field where the incident happened also belonged to the boy’s father Goverdhan. It is learnt that three borewells were sunk but none of them yielded water in the last two days.

A rescue team from Hyderabad is also on the way to the place. The incident took place occurred around 4pm.
