‘Minecraft Dungeons’ Pays Tribute to ‘Diablo’ With Secret Cow Level

by

Released yesterday, it’s been repeatedly said that Minecraft Dungeons bears a strong resemblance to Blizzard’s classic Diablo series. And now, with the discovery of an Easter Egg, you can see that the developers were paying attention.

For those not in the know, the original Diablo had rumours of a secret level that involved the cows just outside of Tristram. Blizzard denied that there was such a thing, yet the rumours persisted. So much, that Blizzard decided to finally give fans a Secret Cow Level in Diablo II. And thanks to Lords of Gaming, we now know that Minecraft Dungeons has its own Cow Level.

It’s a bit involved to access the secret, but the gist of it is you must have completed Minecraft Dungeons once. After that, you’ll need to find your way into a giant church near your camp. In the church, interact with a painting of a dog, and that will reveal locations in other levels of the game that you’ll need to revisit in order to discover hidden runes. Obtain the runes, then come back, push the button, and the gateway to the secret level, called Moo?, is yours.

And yes, you do get attacked by cows once you enter the level.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now for Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
