'We intend to continue fighting for our values and ideology, we'll fight to advance sovereignty,' MK Ayelet Shaked says.
by Hezki BaruchThe Yamina party has decided that its chairman, former Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, will serve as a member of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and as a member of the Subcommittee for Intelligence, Secret Services, Captives and Missing Soldiers.
MK Ayelet Shaked will serve as the party head, as well as a member of the Knesset's Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee and a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
Former Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich (Yamina), who heads the party's National Union faction, will serve as a member of the Finance Committee and the Interior Committee. MK Matan Kahane will serve as a member on the Economy Committee, the Knesset Committee, and the Gas Committee.
MK Ofir Sofer will serve as a member of the Labor and Welfare Committee, the Science Committee, and the Committee on Eradicating Crime in the Arab Sector or the Committee on the Status of Women and Gender Equality. He will also serve as the committee's chariman during the second half of the government's term.
"We intend to continue fighting for our values and ideology, which are the reasons we were elected to Israel's Knesset," Shaked said. "We will work diligently and efficiently, as we know how to do so well. We will be a fighting opposition. We won't make life easy for anyone. When we agree with the government, we will support it, and when we oppose, we will fight with all our strength in order to correct what is crooked."
"We will fight to advance sovereignty, to stop the former Histadrut heads - the Justice Minister and Economy Minister - and their policies to strengthen the strong committees and interfere in the free market, we will push the government to finally reopen the economy and to make rehabilitation plans for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and obviously, we will continue the revolution in the judicial system, even from the benches of the opposition. We will provide the public with a strong, true, trustworthy, right-wing alternative with values."
