Supreme Committee directs employers to develop employee-friendly policies

Muscat: The Supreme Committee, dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, has decided to lift the lockdown in the Governorate of Muscat.

The Oman Government's Communication Center said in a statement, "The Supreme Committee dealing with the COVID-19 has decided to lift the lockdown in the Governorate of Muscat on May 29 and to end the decision to exempt employees from attending workplaces in government institutions, and the necessity of returning at least 50 per cent of the employees starting from May 31."

"The ability of some employees to enjoy the balance of their annual leave. The head of the unit may take the appropriate decision to ensure the regular performance of the government unit for its work and services while setting the necessary precautionary controls to ensure the disease does not spread." the statement added.

The Supreme Committee emphasizes the role of the individual and society in general in preventing disease and adhering to the preventive precautions and stresses the need for all government and private agencies to develop policies and procedures to protect their employees and beneficiaries from spreading of the virus.
