Dead by Daylight gets a Silent Hill crossover when a new chapter arrives on the 16th of June. It'll introduce Midwich Elementary School as a new map, The Executioner as a new killer, and Cheryl Mason as a new survivor.

"Midwich Elementary School is the scene of unspeakable horrors", the announcement reads. "Any sense of the innocence that once marked these halls is gone. In its place: stained walls, rusted chains, hanging cadavers and a sense that things have gone horribly wrong." Pyramid Head, or The Executioner, will be using a massive blade to hunt down victims. Cheryl Mason seems pretty equipped to face him: she survived Silent Hill, avenged her father and "freed herself from the religious cult that had pursued her since birth", only to now fight an "eternal battle."

Creative director for Behaviour Interactive, Dave Richard, spoke to IGN about the map design, saying Midwich Elementary School was chosen because "it's really the first time you go deep into the world of Silent Hill... and see how weird it can get." Behaviour took pains to "replicate" as much as possible about the map, but there will still be some changes. "We also packed it with secrets and winks to the series," Richard adds, with players encountering "all these little elements of puzzles, surprise, [and] little jump scares that were in the original Silent Hill". According to IGN, there will an indoor portion and outdoor portion of the map, two stories, and Legendary Outfits which will completely change the appearance of survivors.

The Silent Hill chapter will arrive for consoles on June 16th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
