by Petrana RadulovicLove, Victor, the companion series to rom-com Love, Simon, hits Hulu on June 19. The show was supposed to debut on Disney Plus, but the House of Mouse deemed it too “adult” and “mature” to grace the family-friendly platform.
The first teaser ramped up the teenage fantasies, as Victor watched a hot barista slowly and carefully make a coffee. This new trailer dives into more of the plot. Victor hails from Texas, moving to the high school that Simon and his friends attend. His new friends want to set him up with a girl, but Victor’s busy making heart-eyes at a cute boy.
Unlike Simon and his accepting parents, it appears that Victor’s fight for familial acceptance will be a little harder. But Victor’s tale seems like a triumphant one, as it looks like he ultimately figures out what it means to be himself. Guess that’s a little too mature for Disney Plus to handle.
Love, Victor stars an almost entirely new cast of characters, though Nick Robinson, who played Simon, will be narrating, and other characters from the movie will make cameos.
