Vizag: Dr Sudhakar Rao alleges wrong medication at mental hospital
by P PavanHyderabad: Visakhapatnam anesthetist Dr Sudhakar Rao Kolaventy wrote a letter to the medical superintendent of the mental hospital, where he has been lodged since May 16 on the belief that he needs treatment for mental stress.
Sudhakar complained of being given medicines that are not required for him. The drugs are affecting his health. He released a photo of his lips dried up due to drugs.
The doctor demanded that he be shifted to a better and higher hospital.
It may be mentioned that Dr Sudhakar was badly handled by the police in Visakhapatnam on May 16, when he was proceeding in his car. The police said he was creating a ruckus on the highway.
According to Vizag police commissioner RK Meena and King George Hospital superintendent G Arjuna, Dr Sudhakar was mentally disturbed and was in an inebriated condition when he created the nuisance.
Rao is under suspension since April 8, after he questioned about the shortage of N95 masks.
Rao was beaten and dragged on the road and dumped in a private auto to be taken to hospital. The inhuman handling of the doctor by the police triggered nationwide protests.
