Saira Khan and Janet Street Porter in furious row over Domininc Cummgs

by

Saira Khan had a furious debate with Janet Street Porter about Dominic Cummings not apologising after allegedly breaking lockdown restrictions.

Saira star called Cummings’ televised statement ‘unacceptable’ and accused him of ‘flouting the law where many have followed it’.

She clashed with Janet on Wednesday’s episode who felt that he did not have a responsibility to apologise to the public.

Saira, who also felt Cummings should resign if he couldn’t apologise, said: ‘He is a member of this government and they should be leading the country. I’m sorry it’s not acceptable.

‘He is a member of government laying down the law and flouting it where many have been following it.’

Janet argued back that there may be aspects people haven’t considered.

She said: ‘No one has thought maybe his wife was the person who wanted to make the journey.’

Explaining why she was so angry about the situation, Saira added: ‘I had a friend whose father died in hospital and she couldn’t visit.

‘It’s not one rule for them and another for everyone else. You don’t do that in a time of crisis, come in front of the nation and make up excuses.’

Janet argued: ‘You’re projecting what you want onto someone else and that’s never gonna happen.’

‘Then he should resign,’ Saira fired back, ‘that’s the kind of leader I want.’
