Bickering firefighters ordered to 'hold hands until they make up' by captain

by

This is the hilarious moment two bickering firefighters were made to hold hands like a couple of naughty schoolchildren.

The two men, both in their 20s, are filmed facing the wall in shame with their hands swaying awkwardly by their side.

Their squad captain at the fire station in Fuyang, eastern China, had reportedly caught them arguing and made them hold hands until they forgave each other.

It seemed to work a treat as two men quickly made up and didn’t spend the entire afternoon in the naughty corner.

Responding to video, the fire service said the punishment allowed the captain to make an example of the two firefighters.

A spokesman said: ‘They were arguing over some trivial things which happened during training. Regular, normal stuff.

‘Their captain had seen this tactic being used in the past, so he gave it a try to see how effective it would be.

‘It seems to be working so far. The two of them have made up already.

‘Their caption told them to hold hands the entire afternoon, but we all know that isn’t possible. They were allowed to go after they forgave one another.’

The footage is going viral on Weibo, China’s Twitter-like social media platform, where the hashtag ‘arguing firemen made to hold hands as punishment’ is trending.

One Weibo user called ‘Yao Phoenix’ commented: ‘Their captain must have been a nursery school teacher.’
