Consumer Protection Act can Provide Relief to the Victims of Chaos in Labor Special Trains -

In the train ran to Gorakhpur from Odisha, there was no water in trains, no food, due to which the passengers are getting sick. Some people have lost their lives. These passengers availing railway facility by purchasing tickets can get relief under Consumer Protection Act.
According to Rajendra Singh, a member of the UP State Consumer Commission, a claim can be made under the Consumer Protection Act 1986 if there is a deficiency in the service fee charged by it. Advocate Rishi Saxena of Lucknow, who is a consumer affairs expert, says that it is considered a consumer to pay a fee. Air travel or insurance, all are covered under the Consumer Protection Act. Labor workers can also claim for damages under the Consumer Protection Act 1986.
Former chairman of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, Anil Tiwari, said that even though the ticket money was not taken directly from the passengers in Shramik Special Trains, the Center and the state government are providing free travel to people under the welfare scheme. Common citizens have this right under Article 4 of the Constitution. The government takes the money from the public as tax, other facilities including traffic are being given free of cost under the same. In such a situation, he can challenge every disturbance in the court.
