HBO MAX Is Available With The Complete Harry Potter Series & Much More

HBO MAX is now available. AT&T's newest streaming service, and third HBO service, launched today for $14.99.

There are a few surprises with the launch though, like the complete Harry Potter series being available. Which means that WarnerMedia was able to renegotiate a deal with NBC Universal.

What is available on HBO MAX?

HBO MAX brings everything from HBO and WarnerMedia under one umbrella. WarnerMedia has a lot of content. Let's not forget that it does have one of the biggest studios around – Tyler Perry's Studio is the only one that is larger.

This means that you are getting HBO originals like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, and much more. But you are also getting Sesame Street, the entire DC Universe, as well as some other hit TV shows like The Big Bang Theory, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and much more.

WarnerMedia is also planning plenty of original content for HBO MAX. Some of which has been filmed already and is available on the platform. Others haven't been filmed yet, as the pandemic forced all filming to be shut down. That includes the Friends Reunion, unfortunately. But the complete Friends series is available on HBO MAX too.

HBO MAX does also have collections available for a number of the networks that WarnerMedia owns. So you can expect shows, originals, movies and more from networks like CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Looney Tunes.

In short, HBO MAX has something for the whole family. From DC movies for the guys, to TCM content for the ladies, and Sesame Street for the kids and everything in between. It is likely worth this $15/month price tag too.

How is HBO MAX different from HBO Go or Now?

HBO MAX is AT&T's newest streaming service. It brings everything that it owns under one streaming service. So it essentially combines HBO content and WarnerMedia content into one service, and for $15/month, it's actually a really great value.

Especially when you consider that HBO cost that much without all of the WarnerMedia content.

HBO Go is the on-demand streaming service, mostly targeted at cord cutters that don't have cable. While HBO Now is for those with cable. As mentioned, both of these are priced the same as HBO MAX. So it makes little sense to sign up for these when HBO MAX is available. It is possible that AT&T will kill off HBO Go and HBO Now, folding them into HBO MAX.
