Scrambler bikers flee into woods after crashing into car

Scrambler bike crashes into car as rider and passenger flee into woods

A scrambler rider and passenger fled into woods after the bike they were riding crashed into a car which was also later found abandoned.

Police were called out at 2.40pm yesterday after reports that a black Volvo car had collided with a scrambler bike on Torrington Drive in Halewood.

Both rider and passenger fled the scene into a nearby wooded area before police arrived.

The black Volvo also left the scene but was found abandoned nearby.

There were no reports of any injuries caused by the crash after police carried a search of the area, and there have been no further reports of any injured parties presenting themselves to a hospital.

Both the car and motorbike were seized.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances leading up to the collision and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the local area.

Anyone who saw either vehicle in the area prior to the collision who witnessed anything or think they may have captured something on dash cam footage is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting log 487 of 26th May.
