Italian team unearth mosaic floor from Roman villa
Archaeologists in Italy have unearthed a well-preserved floor of a Roman villa, underneath a vineyard outside the northern Italian city of Verona.
According to the municipality of Negrar di Valpolicella, the team managed to find parts of the ancient Roman Villa that was discovered more than a century ago.
They said the discovery came "after countless decades of failed attempts".
Images published yesterday showed the well-preserved mosaics buried under layers of earth.
Archaeologists are still working to excavate the remaining foundation of the villa.
