From Snyder Cut To Harry Potter’s Streaming Rights – HBO Max Chief Touch REVEALS Unheard Details

After so much of anticipation, HBO Max has finally been launched. A lot has been said about the new OTT platform and many even predicted it to cause a dent to rivals like Netflix. Amidst all, the highly anticipated Justice League Snyder Cut is something everyone is looking forward. Recently, HBO Max content chief Kevin Reilly spilled the beans on Snyder Cut and other upcoming projects, in a gist of excitement.

Reilly spoke about the production values of Green Lantern and other projects. He even explained how tough it was to get through the legal issues and bring out the ‘Snyder cut’ vision of Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder. He also added that the audience will get to see the highest level of cinematic production values in HBO Max’s projects.

While talking to Business Insider, Reilly was quoted saying,  “Greg [Berlanti, who is producing a Green Lantern series for Max] has done a lot of really quality DC fare for The CW. These will not be that. These will be next step up in production value. You can expect the highest level of cinematic production values on those shows, and that’s the same for the projects we’ve announced with J.J. [Abrams].”

Speaking about JJ Abram and his Justice League Dark series, Reilly added, “He’s always loved it. He always felt that there was a lot of opportunity there and an unexplored territory, and kind of a pond that he could play in exclusively.” On Snyder Cut, he said, “I forget when Zack and Deborah [Snyder] first gave us the sense of where they were heading, but even from that meeting, me and my team felt it was something we really wanted to do. There were a lot of issues involved to figure out how we could deliver on his vision and a myriad of legal issues.”

He added, “We’ve been sitting on this for quite some time but working on it. It was obviously a secret project given the high level of interest, but we were chipping away at it piece by piece. There was some strategy but also some serendipity in how we got over the hurdle of some of those issues just before the launch [of Max],” he quoted saying about Snyder Cut.

Reilly also revealed that Harry Potter won’t make it to HBO Max at least till 2025 as NBC Universal owns the distribution rights. Also, it is learnt that DCU shows are not making to the platform anytime soon but Snyder Cut is COMING!
