Deal Still In The Works For Onyango To Join PSL Outfit

Siya sources have indicated that talks for a defender to return to the Absa Premiership have reignited behind the scenes.

The Siya crew reported in the past that former Maritzburg United defender, Brian Onyango was on the verge of putting pen to paper on a deal with Rulani Mokwena’s Chippa United side.

However, due to the suspension of domestic football, which followed shortly after due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Siya sources have indicated, that talks at the time were therefore put on hold. 

It has since been revealed to the Siya crew by a source close to the dealings that Chippa are still keen on bringing the player on board at the club and talks have since restarted behind the scenes.

“Onyango and Chippa are talking again. The parties previously got distracted the current COVID-19 pandemic. He is very likely to sign there because the coach and management like him. At this point it is just about the figures,” the source said.

With the country set to move to level 3 of the nationwide lockdown, a decision about the resumption of the 2019/20 campaign could be imminent at this point.
