‘Nobody Is Signing Contracts Except For Pitso’

Highlands Park are not engaging in any contract talks at the moment, with the club yet to make a decision on the future of their number one goalkeeper Marlon Heugh.

The 29-year-old, who would have seen his contract expire at the end of 2018/19 season, had a one-year option exercised by the club. 

Now, the Cape Town-born shot-stopper will see his current deal with the Tembisa outfit end on June 30.

Despite competition from former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni, Kyle Peters and veteran Greg Etafia, Heugh has featured 18 times in all competitions for the Lions of the North.

He has been pivotal to Owen Da Gama’s side for a top eight finish this season, keeping five clean sheets in the current Absa Premiership campaign.

Playing his cards close to his chest, the club's co-director Sinky Mnisi revealed to the Siya crew that there have not been any not been any negotiations regarding a new deal for the player.

"We are not talking renewals for any player at this moment. Nobody is signing new contracts except for Pitso Mosimane," Mnisi said.
