The government has denied claims that schools will be opened on the the 1st of June.
Said Secretary of Information, Nick Mangwana
This follows after information minister Monica Mutsvangwa said schools and colleges will no longer be used as Covid-19 quarantine facilities, since the government is preparing to reopen the educational institutions.
Schools and colleges were being used as designated quarantine centers for the Covid-19 pandemic for returnees from abroad, who risk bringing in exported cases or Covid-19.
Most of the returnees are coming from the UK, South Africa and Botswana.
Schools have been closed since March when the government ordered a national lockdown, in order to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Recently the government announced that the exam writing levels will be first to return to school.
