Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes Returns Next Year

Frogwares, the team behind a handful of recent Sherlock Holmes titles, is bringing the world's best detective back next year. The studio announced Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One in a trailer released yesterday.

Chapter One is, as the name suggests, an origin story exploring a 21-year-old version of Holmes much younger than the one in Arthur Conan Doyle's novels. It also takes place outside London, instead taking Sherlock to a Mediterranean island where he will investigate the death of his mother alongside his best friend, Jonathan.

The game builds on the ideas established in Frogware's The Sinking City in establishing what it refers to its 'Global Investigation System'. The idea is that that will give you far more freedom when solving cases, which is always good. As far as I'm concerned though, any Sherlock that doesn't involve Steven Moffat is probably a good thing.
