A Lithuanian man has been charged with the murder of another man whose body was found in a house in Belfast.

Sarunas Nauburaitis (34) of Oakley Street in the north of the city, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court by videolink from the PSNI's specialist Covid-19 custody suite.

The court heard that he walked into a police station on Saturday night and indicated to staff that he had "carried out certain actions".

Nauburaitis wore a mask over his mouth during the short hearing this morning.

The court heard that he has been charged with murder of a man between May 15 and 20.

It comes following the discovery of a body at a house in Oakley Street on Saturday.

A PSNI detective inspector told the court he believed he could connect the accused with the charge.

The court heard that officers are working with overseas agencies to confirm the identity of the deceased man.

No bail application was made.

Nauburaitis is due to reappear before the court by videolink on June 24.
