Love Island's Anna Vakili claims she's being threatened after Hyde Park brawl
by Emma KellyLove Island’s Anna Vakili has alleged she is being threatened on social media following a brawl in Hyde Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The 29-year-old denied attacking a group of ‘teenagers’ after footage from a fight in Kensington Gardens on 25 May circulated on social media, and claims she was acting in self defence after the girls allegedly attacked her cousin.
And in a new Instagram post, the pharmacist, who recently returned to work on the frontline, has claimed those involved in the fight have been threatening her over Instagram.
Anna shared a tweet which appeared to showed a Twitter account attributed to her having a conversation with the account UK Porn Industry, about filming a porn scene.
The alleged conversation saw the person claiming to be Anna asking how much she would be paid and if the scene would be kept a secret.
UK Porn Industry tweeted: ‘People have no idea what goes down in our DM’s. However, attacking girls half your age (and kicking them whilst they’re on the floor) isn’t something we condone.’
Denying that she ever had a Twitter account, aside from one set up in her name by a friend during Love Island 2019, Anna wrote: ‘This FAKE CONVERSATION! Even if I was BROKE AS F*** – I would never do porn.
‘I’m Iranian. My mum would kill herself. So you think I would kill my mum. I would rather sleep on the streets.’
Anna then referenced the tweet’s claims that she ‘attacked girls half [her] age’, writing: ‘Girls that had violently attacked my little cousin a few seconds before – left her bleeding (ALSO VERBALLY SHOUTING AT ME FOR AGES CALLING ME PLASTIC) guys with them had a gun and tried to steal my phone.
‘AND THEY’RE STILL THREATENING ME EVERY HOUR ON INSTAGRAM SAYING THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME AND IM PLASTIC. THESE PEOPLE ARE VILE.’
Yesterday, Anna – who appeared on last year’s series of Love Island – issued a statement denying starting the fight following a picnic with her sister Mandi, boyfriend and cousin.
‘Since coming out of Love Island it’s become my normal for people to shout abuse at me in the streets and I have learned to turn a blind eye and remove myself from the situation,’ she wrote.
‘Yesterday, I was having a picnic in the park with my sister, boyfriend and cousin when we were subjected to continuous verbal abuse from a group who came near us who were doing drugs. Wanting to remove ourselves away from them we packed up to leave, they came over swung at my cousin and threw her by the hair leaving her bleeding.
‘Out of self defence we had to get them off of her and leave. There was a large group of them and not many of us. These are not “innocent children” they have a gun, and they tried to steal my sisters phone. I have never had a physical fight in my life!! The violent attack has been reported to the police.’
She continued: ‘All these DMs and messages from people that weren’t even there. Why would we randomly attack anyone???? Use your brains.
‘We were attacked verbally and physically first because they knew me. Everything we done was to protect ourselves and my cousin. Can’t even enjoy a picnic in peace. I’ve just had enough.’
Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk that they are ‘aware of an allegation of assault in Hyde Park, on Monday, 25 May, at approximately 20:00hrs.’
Footage of the fight appeared to show Anna dragging a girl by the hair, while her sister Mandi, 28, is also seen involved.
Mandi took to Instagram to show off scratches on her face, claiming that the group had attacked their cousin first.
