Jeffrey Epstein victims ‘told NYPD and FBI everything but it was never investigated’, Netflix’s Filthy Rich doc claims
by Rebecca Husselbee | Assistant Foreign EditorTWO sisters who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell have said that their accounts of shocking abuse was ignored by authorities.
Maria and Annie Farmer spoke out as part of a four-part Netflix documentary, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, about how the pair lured them to the financier's properties after promising to help them with their careers.
The pair say that after being abused by Epstein and Maxwell on separate occasions at his New Mexico Ranch and his property in Ohio, cops failed to follow up on the report.
Maria's horrifying account revealed that both Epstein and Maxwell, who is thought to have recruited underage girls for the tycoon, touched her inappropriately in a bedroom at his home in Ohio in 1996.
Annie also claims that she was given a topless massage by Maxwell in view of Epstein and that later he got into bed with her, carrying out the terrifying abuse at his New Mexico Ranch.
Maria told the documentary-makers: "When I got back to New York City, I told NYPD everything that had happened.
"I told them I had been assaulted and they said, 'it's just not in our jurisdiction, we have nothing to do with it',
"These things happened in Ohio and New Mexico, you are gonna have to call FBI.
"When I called the FBI, I laid it out very specifically.
"I said, I'm reporting these people: Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
"I told them everything and I could tell that he believed me, so I really believed that he was going to take care of this.
"And then we just actually did not hear back."
Maria and her sister were the first Epstein victims to ever report their abuse to authorities back in 1996.
Ghislaine Maxwell, who has rarely been seen in public since the claims, denies all allegations made against her.
SHOCKING ABUSE
During the explosive doc, Maria Farmer retells her story of how she first met Epstein at an art exhibition while studying at the New York Academy of Art in 1995.
The now-deceased Tycoon later ask it Maria had any siblings and told her that he could help them both to further their careers.
Maria was offered a job at his New York mansion, managing visitors to the property, while her younger sister Annie, just 16-years-old at the time, was invited to his New Mexico Ranch.
During the documentary, Annie says that Epstein offered her a trip to Vietnam and Thailand to build her resume but was first invited to New Mexico for what she thought would be a chance to meet other students.
There she was assaulted by Maxwell who massaged her topless in view of Epstein before he later entered her bedroom one morning for a 'cuddle'.
She says he sexually abused her under the covers before she was able to get away in a near-by bathroom.
She said during the doc: "He crawled into bed with me and, um...you know, started touching me.
"...but I remember making an excuse, like I needed to go to the bathroom.
"...I was very scared of what was going on and afterward I just avoided it.
Her older sister Maria also faced horrors at the hands of the pair and says that they sat each side of her as they inappropriately touched her after she was asked to give Epstein a foot rub.
She also said during the doc: "They [Epstein and Maxwell] were touching me in different ways on my chest.
"I kind of had like, you know, some tears, and she goes, 'shh, it's gonna be okay'.
"I had escaped my body at that point."
'SEXUAL ABUSE PYRAMID SCHEME'
More horrific details of the disgraced financiers' sordid life have been revealed in the documentary, telling how he ran a 'sexual abuse pyramid scheme'.
It is claimed that Epstein encouraged his young victims to recruit more girls into his pedophile ring over years of carrying out the sick abuse.
The tycoon was facing life behind bars for carrying out the sexual assaults on women and underage girls, helped by his network of enablers, who turned a blind eye to his crimes.
He was found dead in his cell back in August last year before he could stand trial and questions were raised over how he had managed to take his own life in the high-security prison.
Documentary makers also spoke to witness, Steve Scully, 70, who says he saw Prince Andrew kissing Virginia Roberts and grabbing her bottom on paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s Caribbean island home.
Virginia Roberts claims she was a victim after being bought into the sex trafficking ring by Epstein and forced to have sex with the royal - a claim that has been strongly denied by the Duke of York.
The Prince was linked to Epstein after visiting him several times in New York at this Caribbean Island but has since acknowledged that friendship was a 'mistake' and an 'error of judgement'.
Amongst these other allegations there have also been claims that Bill Clinton was spotted on Epstein's island.
Prince Andrew has emphatically denied a relationship with Ms Roberts and has said he cannot recall a 2001 picture of them together.
The Duke, who has now been stripped of all this royal duties, also took part in a car crash TV interview where he denied meeting the Roberts at a London nightclub.
