Warning after luxury BMWs stripped of parts by thieves

Sought-after steering wheels and parts have been stripped from BMWs promoting a warning to owners for vigilance.

Police say thieves have targeted luxury cars in the Tettenhall and Wightwick areas of Wolverhampton in recent days.

Officers have been out on patrol and giving crime prevention advice to people living in the area.

Four cars including an X5, 420D and a 521I were ripped of steering wheel and centre consoles on May 23 and May 24.

Penn and Tettenhall Police said: "[We] had four reported incidents of vehicle crime overnight targeting BMW vehicles by removing the interiors of the vehicles.

"Officers are currently visiting the victims and giving out crime prevention advice and conducting enquiries."
