Samsung India launches best-ever Galaxy A51 model with even more RAM

by

Samsung India today announced the arrival of the best-ever Galaxy A51 model featuring an unprecedented amount of RAM for one of the company’s mid-rangers. The latest addition to the smartphone family is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory, expandable by up to 512GB via a microSD card slot. This added luxury will set you back Rs 27,999 ($370), which is only slightly higher than the Rs 25,250 ($330) price tag attached to the 6GB/128GB configuration.

The release marks yet another one of the manufacturer’s attempts to double down on the Galaxy A51, which has been one of Samsung’s best-selling smartphone lineups since its late 2019 debut. Indian consumers will be able to get their hands on the new device iteration both online and offline, with Samsung confirming its availability in three colors: Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Black, and Prism Crush Blue.

The Galaxy A51 is all about value

The Galaxy A51’s success – both in India and beyond – can largely be attributed to the smartphone’s value-oriented nature. Behind its aggressive pricing is a versatile smartphone sporting a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, 4,000mAh battery, and the AI-infused Exynos 9611 chipset. Its quad-camera setup combines a 48-megapixel module with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, as well as two more 5-megapixel sensors fine-tuned for depth-sensing and macro photography, respectively.

Thanks in part to the Galaxy A50, Samsung made $1 billion with the A series in India alone, and this year’s follow-up range appears to be on course to end up in a similar ballpark revenue-wise. The 8GB RAM models already made their way to some other countries such as Malaysia, and more markets are likely to follow soon.
