4A Games has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from Metro: Exodus

by

4A Games has released a brand new patch for Metro: Exodus that removes the controversial Denuvo anti-tamper tech. The team has removed Denuvo from all PC versions, including Steam and Xbox Gamepass.

Now as we’ve stated in our PC Performance Analysis, Metro: Exodus is mostly a GPU-bound title. As such, you may not notice any performance improvements at all. Still, it’s great having an official Denuvo-free version of this game. It will also be interesting to see whether Deep Silver will remove Denuvo from its other titles in the future.

Alongside the removal of Denuvo, this latest patch fixes the rapidly discharging filter issue in Sam’s Story on all platforms. It also fixes some camera rotation issue with latest Nvidia Ansel update, as well as various crashes. Additionally, it adds save backup functionality for Epic version in case of cloud save malfunction.

As always, Steam and Epic Games Store will download this patch the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
