Telangana To Bring In New Policy For Tollywood

HYDERABAD: Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav met members of Telugu film Industry on Wednesday to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on Tollywood during the lockdown.

The minister on this occasion stated that the Telangana government will soon come up with a policy to support the growth of the Telugu film industry. "The television and film industries are facing huge losses due to the lockdown. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, at a meeting with industry personalities on last Friday, discussed issues related to the industry. I promise you that the government would come up with a policy to boost the growth of the industry and its workers, who are directly or indirectly affected by the coronavirus outbreak." said Minister Talasani.

"We will also convene a meeting on Thursday to discuss the scope for the resumption of film shootings," said Talasani.

The minister also said that a final call would be taken on revival of film shootings after examining the policy.
The Telangana government is in favour of Tollywood activities to resume in a phased manner. To start with, the government has allowed post-production works of films to resume with minimal staff.

Besides Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Producers C Kalyan, Dil Raju, Director N Shanker, MAA (Movie Artists Association) president Naresh, FDC EX chairman Ram Mohan Rao and others participated in the meeting.
