Maharashtra Governor lauds Sonu Sood for helping migrant workers reach home

Governor of Maharashtra took to their Twitter page and complimented Sonu Sood for his dedicated work in facilitating the safe transportation of migrant people from various states to their home states.

Sonu Sood has been winning the hearts of people across the country for helping migrant workers get back to their homes safely. The actor is leaving no stone unturned in arranging vehicles so that people can not walk home and suffer more amid lockdown. Several actors, politicians and sports personalities lauded Sonu for his sweet and unconditional gesture towards the people who are in need and deserve attention to be safe and sound.

A while back, Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari complimented Sonu for his dedication and work towards migrant workers. The official Twitter page of Governer of Maharashtra wrote, "विविध राज्यातील स्थलांतरित लोकांना त्यांच्या मूळ राज्यात सुरक्षित पोहचविण्यासाठी सातत्यपूर्वक करीत असलेल्या प्रयत्नांबाबत राज्यपाल भगतसिंह कोश्यारी यांनी प्रसिद्ध अभिनेते सोनू सूद यांचे दूरध्वनीवरून अभिनंदन केले."

They also tweeted in English which read as "Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called up actor, filmstar @SonuSood and complimented him for his dedicated work in facilitating the safe transportation of migrant people from various states to their home states."

Sonu replied to the tweet by writing, "Thank u so much, sir. Your words inspire me to work harder. Will continue working for the migrant brothers and sisters till we unite them with their families. Honoured."

On Tuesday, Sony launched a toll-free number to facilitate the migrants to reach their home. Talking about the same, he told PTI, "I was getting a lot of calls... Thousands of calls every day. My family and friends were busy collecting the data then we realised we might miss out on a lot of people who we will not be able to approach us. So we decided to open this call centre, it is a toll-free number."
