People are praising mental health's portrayal in Normal People

by

Last night saw Episode of Normal People air on RTÉ, and the reaction online has been overwhelmingly positive.

Without spoiling too much, Episode 10 of Normal People sees Connell's mental state starts to deteriorate quickly and, with a little help from his roommate, goes to seek help in the form of a therapist.

The scene is incredibly powerful and tough to watch at times, but it makes light of a very important topic and the general consensus is that it handled the issue fantastically.

While there was a certain amount of backlash from people to earlier episodes, it seems that the show is winning people over with how delicately it handles difficult topics such as this one.
