Man City fans identify the Bayern Munich player they want in Leroy Sane swap deal

Manchester City fans were impressed with one Bayern Munich player in their win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Joshua Kimmich's brilliant chip might have won Der Klassiker for Bayern Munich on Tuesday to make them firm favourites for the Bundesliga title, but it was another Bayern player who left a bigger impression on Manchester City fans.

After Kimmich's wonderful goal put Bayern in control, Dortmund thought they would equalise when Erling Haaland had a run on goal. However, left-back Alphonso Davies made up around 20 yards to race back and dispossess Haaland just as he was about to shoot. The Canadian international made 42 sprints during the game, clocking a top speed of 22mph.

Davies, 19, has caught the eye this season from left-back with his pace and trickery, scoring twice and assisting four times, and his good form continued against Dortmund.

Bayern moved seven points clear of Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga with seven games remaining, and look set to add another league title to their collection. This summer, they want to add Leroy Sane to the squad that will look to defend their title next season.

While plenty of fans were imagining the frightening prospect of Sane and Davies on the same flank at Bayern next year, City supporters on Twitter had another idea.

They suggested that if Bayern do want Sane, City should ask for Davies in part-exchange.

A look at Davies' pace:

He looks incredible

If you don't ask...

They made a big impression

Imagine the pace

He's unreal

Deal done?

It could solve two problems

City have been linked with a number of left-backs to potentially replace Benjamin Mendy, who has been injury-prone during his City career. Angelino, currently on loan at RB Leipzig, could leave permanently this summer, and while Aleks Zinchenko has performed well at left-back, Guardiola may want a more natural defender in the position.
