Stolen car abandoned after crashing into tree in Bolton

It has since been recovered for forensic analysis

A stolen car was driven into a tree and abandoned following a burglary in Bolton

The Honda Civic was stolen from a property on Deane Church Lane at around 4.20am on Wednesday morning. 

It was pursued through Bolton before it went off road near Gibbon Street. Officers say the vehicle then crashed into a tree and was abandoned.

The car was later recovered for forensic analysis and enquiries are ongoing, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said. 

A spokesman for GMP Traffic said: “Honda Civic was stolen by means of burglary on Deane Church lane Bolton at 04:20hrs. 

“15 mins later it was sighted by #XT18 and pursued through Bolton where it went off road near to Gibbon St. Having collided with a tree it was abandoned. Enqs ongoing. Car recovered for forensics.”
